2017 Taipei Art Awards

Having been successfully presented for many years by Taipei Fine Arts Museum, the grand prize of 「2017 Taipei Art Awards」 is Hualien White Lighthouse by Yu-Song Wang.

13 participating artists of “2017 Taipei Art Awards” include Yu-Song Wang, Kai-Chun Chiang, Chi-Yu Wu, Sih-Chin Wu, Cheng-Liang Li, Chieh-Sen Chiu, Chung-Han Yao, Hsuan Hung, Pei-Mao Sun, Liang-Hsuan Chen, Yi-Min Huang, Chi-Chuan Yang and Shuai-Cheng Pu. Due to the current renovation of TFAM, the competition result is shown in MOCA, Taipei. For this newly edition, “2017 Taipei Art Awards” includes in the Audience Choice Award, which is organized with the objective of deepening audience participation.

 

Egyptian Mummies from the British Museum–Exploring ancient lives

Venue: National Palace Museum (Taipei)

「Egyptian Mummies from the British Museum–Exploring ancient lives」 is co-worked by National Palace Museum and the British Museum, which presents six mummies, along with coffins, steles and other funerary objects , in total more than 200 objects from ancient times. Viewers can not only unveil the mysterious wrappings of mummies, but also imagine the ancient Egyptian lives by using Computerized Tomography (CT) scanning.

 

Infinities of Zao Wou-Ki

Exhibition date: Now - March 04, 2018

Venue: Asia University Museum of Modern Art

Abstract painting master Zao Wou-Ki passed away in 2013, and his artistic achievements were prominent. Museums around the world not only collected his art works but also granted many prizes such as the Praemium Imperiale Award of Painting, Japan in 1994, the Académie des Beaux-Arts in 2002, Paris and in the decorated position of Grand Officier de l’Ordre de la Légion d’Honneur by the President of France in 2006. 「Infinities of Zao Wou-Ki」is a comprehensive retrospective exhibition, in the first major museum presentation of the artist’s works in Asia in thirty 30 years. It features the works from the selection of the museums from France and Taiwan, Taiwanese collections, and also the first presentation.

 

FUNTASTICO│Jaime Hayon

Exhibition date: Now - March 04, 2018

Venue: Taipei Song Shan Cultural Park

Admission: NT 320

Jaime Hayon was named as “Dali who designs.” He was popular by his creative and modern works. He was selected as one of the 100 most relevant creators of these times by Time magazine and was elected as one of the most influential designers by Spanish government. 「FUNTASTICO│Jaime Hayon」features his classic works such as GREEN CHICKEN, THE TOURNAMENT, ROCKING HOT DOG and other more than 40 pieces of works.
