Wang Pan-yuan
‘ Wang was witnessing the loneliness of the times and the whole society, the loneliness reflected in his art.’

The canvas fills up space with a feeling of infinitely, lonely and quiet, and also little bit obscure. This so-called "bitter aesthetics" of Wang Pan-yuan. Although the color is bold and vigorous, the composition is simple, but it brought the melancholy in his heart. The loneliness came from his tough life experience. During the chaotic war period, he developed a forbearing character. Even though he was in a trap, he did not extinguish his enthusiasm for painting. He often depicts many elements, the lines are minimal but full of tension, and these all contain his life story. He lived in the Lanyang Plain ever since he came to Taiwan, painting the life sceneries in Yilan, such as the rain in Lanyang, Taiping Mountain, Suao Port, etc. Among them, Wang’s favorite subject is Guishan Island, because if he sees Guishan Island, he knows that his home is not far away.

Hsia Yang
'As if a man shadow, it is exsit in reality. '
Those trembling, tangled and erratic lines create “fuzzy” figures which make a strong presence in the painting. It represents his observation of life. With famous artists like Ho Kan, Hsiao Chin and Li Yuan-chia, they formed Eastern Painting Group and one of the ‘Eight Great Outlaws’, the fuzziness shows Yang’s life in Milan, Paris, New York as a wanderer. His ethereal and quietly exist shows his care and compassion for the existence and surging of human beings. The “fuzzy” figures is a symbol of reality, get rid of the original meaning from its from and a add on a sense of discomfort and alienation.

‘Time flies with age, memories are not been forgotten but we could not think of it.’
The ordinary and plain sketching is the style of Liang. Using the contrast of black and white, paper and charcoal bring an image-liked style, as if the film printing in the past. He presented his early work with a frozen of time, bringing back the forgotten. Nowadays, his idea changed to the movement and stillness of life. The heaviness, loneliness, and relics are all slightly reduced. Liang shows his aim to be fewer desires and live a simple life in his works.

The title‘Eight Great Outlaws’, shows his aggressiveness, rebellion, and creativity in the art world. While the media and review were giving a positive response to the " Eastern Painting Group ", Ho was one of their members. In his works, the traditional Chinese calligraphy structure and color block met the Surrealism from the west. The traditional chinese philosophy ‘spherical heavens and flat earth’ as his foundation. To Hsiao, discover the potential of the mental and realize the true of the unity of nature and man are the reasons of his art. As a member of ‘Eastern Painting Group’, he promoted the Punto International Art Movement when he stayed in Milan that see Eastern philosophy ‘Mindfulness’ as its purpose. Han Hsiang-Ning
Using the spray gun technique in abstractionism and one-color tone to characterize the view of New York. The blurry impression is what comes from memory, not as clear as the human eyes. However, the contour is clear enough to judge.

Han combined the spray painting techniques with Post-Impressionist to create his signature “dot” style. He relies on imagination and memory to get rid of the constraints of time and space. He went to New York alone because of pursuing his dream. His solo exhibition ‘Pursuing His Dreams, multiple locations, China and Taiwan’ to conclude this experience.
