Lim Sang Choon, Nelson was born in Singapore in 1975. In 2016, he completed his master degree from Applied Arts (Ceramics) Department in National Tainan University of Arts. Lim started his ceramic art journey ever since his studies in Singapore. His recent works use porcelain and metal as the mediums, in order to project the contradiction and symbiotic relationship between metal as a product of modern industry and long history of ceramic art. Porcelain slurry wrapped over the wire mesh and kiln firing, the work implies a situation in which the ideal and the real environment conflict. Nelson has participated in numerous international exhibitions such as the 2017 Gyeonggi International Ceramics Biennale, Taiwan Ceramics Biennale, and Contemporary Ceramic Art in Asia. In 2016, his "The Composition of Time" series won the merit award in the Taiwan Ceramics Biennale. His works are collected by Yingge Ceramics Museum, Korea Ceramics Foundation and Ngee Ann Cultural Centre.
